The word ‘Trailblazer’ fits Kieren D’Souza like a glove. What else would you call a man who is driven by a burning desire to ‘RUN’ Everest in 24 hours?
In a decade of pounding trails across the globe, Kieren has achieved many firsts for an Indian in the Space of Ultrarunning and Mountaineering.
Among his recent achievements, was climbing and descending as many as TEN 6,000 metre peaks, each in a day. The entire project was completed in less than a month. Additionally, he has set speed climbing records on Friendship peak (5289m) starting and finishing in Manali in 11hr45min and deo Tibba (6001m) in 19hrs 38 min. He also ran 126km over Hampta Pass and Rohtang Pass in 18hr 58 min …. YET ANOTHER FIRST.
Kieren’s immediate goal is a speed ascent on Mt. Trishul (a 7,122 mt. peak). He will be the FIRST AND ONLY Indian to attempt this feat.
Where it comes to ‘Trail Running’, Kieren has etched a name for himself not just in India but globally. He ran the gruelling Spartathlon in 2016 - a 246km race – and earned the laurels of becoming the FIRST AND ONLY Indian to have completed the race. He was also the highest ranked Indian at CCC (UTMB – 2016) as well as on the strenuous ‘Sky Running World Series’ in 2019.
Last but certainly not least, Kieren has represented India at the ‘Trail World Championships’ for three straight years from 2017-2019.
